Experts say make sure you are wide awake before getting behind the wheel.
TAMPA, FL – Research conducted by the American Automobile Association says one in four drivers admit to getting behind the wheel when they have trouble keeping their eyes open.

According to AAA officials Drowsy driving is getting worse in the Bay area and around the country. Officials say in 16 percent of fatal crashes, one person was too sleepy to drive.

On Thursday, as part of Drowsy Driving Awareness Week, Sleep Apnea Treatment Centers of America along with Florida Highway Patrol will host a presentation in downtown Tampa.

The event begins at 10 a.m. at the corner of Kennedy Boulevard and Franklin Street. The demonstration will include a crash rollover simulator.
