Physician Bio: Dr. James A. Daly is a native of Savannah, Georgia where he attended Benedictine Military School and graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Leo University in St. Leo, Florida in 1978. He received his Doctorate of Medicine degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in New York, NY in 1982. After completing a residency in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital in New York City in 1986, he served as a Fellow in Pulmonary and Critical Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, which he completed in 1989. He joined the faculty of the UCLA School of Medicine in 1988 and served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine to 1993. During this period, Dr. Daly started the Harbor-UCLA Sleep Disorders Center and conducted research in the field of Neuropsychological dysfunction and brain perfusion in patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome.
He returned to his home town of Savannah, Georgia in 1993 where he started Southeast Lung and Critical Care Specialist and Southeast Sleep Disorders Centers which has grown to one of the largest Pulmonary and Sleep Disorders specialty practices in the Southeast with 12 Physicians, offices spanning a 100 mile radius from Savannah, and 13 sleep disorders laboratories performing over 5,000 sleep studies annually. Dr. Daly’s practice is dedicated to the field of Sleep Disorders Medicine.
He is Board Certified by the American Board of Sleep Medicine, the ABIM Sleep Subspecialty board, and ABIM Pulmonary Disease. He has served on the Part I ABSM exam committee for the American Academy of Sleep Disorders Medicine. He is married to Lake Walker Daly for 32 years and has four children.
